Ge Garden (Chinese: 个园) is located in the northeast section of Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China. It is a protected garden with a long history. The Chinese character "个" looks just like three leaves of a bamboo and the shadow of the leaves on the wall also appears like the character "个".
The garden was built in 1818, during the Qing Dynasty. A salt merchant by the name of Huang Zhijun (黄至筠) completed the garden during the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor. The garden was built on the base of the Shouzhi Garden (寿芝园) which originated in the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).
In 1988, the garden was declared an "Important Heritage Site Under State Protection" by the government of China.
The garden is known for its distinctive design, such as its rock gardens and various kinds of bamboos, which contribute to different scenes reflecting the four seasons.[1]
